Dr. Stephen Raskin: A Renowned Headache Neurologist with a Legacy of Excellence

Dr. Stephen Raskin is a highly respected figure in the field of headache neurology, recognized for his outstanding contributions to research, education, and leadership. In 2020, he received the prestigious Seymour Solomon Award Lecture from the American Headache Society (AHS) for his achievements in the field.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Raskin has earned numerous accolades and awards. In 2019, he was honored with the John Edmeads Award from the Canadian Headache Society for his work in headache and resident education in Canada. He also received the Graham Lecture Award from the AHS for his international leadership in research and education.

Dr. Raskin's dedication to his field has been rewarded with several prestigious awards, including the Friedman Distinguished Clinician Research Award from the AHS for outstanding contributions to headache medicine. In 2007, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Headache Cooperative of New England.

As a prolific writer and educator, Dr. Raskin has authored numerous publications and received Excellence in Teaching Awards throughout his career. He recently stepped down as Chair of the Education Committee for the International Headache Society after six years of dedicated service.

Prior to his current role at Dalhousie University, he was Professor and Head of Neurology from 1994 to 2006.

In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Raskin has held various administrative positions throughout his career. He served as Professor and Head of the Department of Medicine at Dalhousie University and QE II Health Sciences Centre from 2005 to June 2011.
